LESSON 3: SELF INTRODUCTION 👲👩👮

There are fixed expressions that commonly used when introducing yourself in Japanese language. It will normally start with greeting and end with greeting. Below are few models of common self-introduction.

1)

ヌハ ：はじめまして。ヌハです。マレーシアから きました。

どうぞ よろしく おねがい します。

Nuha : Hajimemashite. Nuha desu. Mareeshia kara kimashita.

Doozo yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

ヨオナ ：はじめまして。ヨオナです。かんこくじんです。

どうぞ よろしく。

Yoona : Hajimemashite. Yoona desu. Kankokujin desu.

Doozo yoroshiku.

2)

ハサナ：はじめまして。ハサナです。りがくぶの 4 ねんせいです。

よろしく おねがい します。

Hasana : Hajimemashite. Hasana desu. Rigakubu no 4 nensei desu.

Yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

ヌハ ：はじめまして。ヌハです。けいざいがくぶの

1 ねんせいです。どうぞ よろしく。

Nuha : Hajimemashite. Nuha desu. Keizaigakubu no 1 nensei desu.

Doozo yoroshiku.

FORMALITIES in conversation

The phrases, the lower it goes the less formal it is. [yoroshiku] is very casual and be careful not to use

it to older person/ higher status than you or a person who you first met.

どうぞ よろしく おねがい します [doozo yoroshiku onegai shimasu]

よろしく おねがい します [yoroshiku onegai shimasu]

よろしく[yoroshiku]

Instead of asking in full sentence, using only half of the sentence with an question intonation will

help you asking about a person without being rude.

おなまえ は （なんですか）？[onamae wa?]

おしごと は （なんですか）？[oshigoto wa?]

おくに は （どこです）？ [okuni wa?]
